Open Waiting List
One Bedroom Apartments
The Ferndale Housing Commission will open the waiting list for one-bedroom Public Housing Apartments beginning Monday, June 23, 2008. Interested applicants can apply between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on business days at the offices of the Ferndale Housing Commission, 415 Withington, Ferndale, MI 48220. Eligible applicants cannot exceed the U.S. Department of HUD’s income limits for the Detroit Metro Area and must meet the tenant suitability requirements for Public Housing program. Applications must be made at the above address and must be complete with all required documentation. Applications will be placed on the waiting list in the order they were received. Priority is given to applicants whose head of household or spouse is at least 62 years of age or older, disabled, or handicap. The waiting list will remain open until further notice. The Ferndale Housing Commission has developed its one year Annual Plan for the year 2009 in compliance with the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998. The Plan is available for review at the Housing Commission’s office located at 415 Withington, Ferndale, MI 48220. The Commission’s hours of operation are 8:00 A.M. till 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. In addition a public hearing will be held, to give interested parties the opportunity to comment on the plan, on Friday, August 29, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at the Housing Commission’s office.
